Road Safety | ISO 39001

The first International Standard for all organizations that have staff "on the road" and that intend to address the occupational risks related to the road, actively participating in the safety of road traffic.

Possibility to negotiate with the Insurance companies discounts of up to 25% on the R.C. AUTO (insurance premiums of the vehicles); it also allows the Company to have the right, in an indisputable and continuous way over the years, to relief on the insurance premiums INAIL, depending on the number of employees: 28% discount up to 10 employees, 18% discount with a number of employees between 11 and 50 and so on to climb.

The issue of health and safety in the workplace and in road traffic is one of the elements that most affects the risk profile of the company and is also a priority for its reputation. Legislative Decree 231/2001 in combination with Law 123/2007 provides for heavy penalties for organizations involved in serious accidents at work.

From these initial considerations we can understand the considerable level of risk to which the Company, and consequently the Owners, is exposed in the event of a serious accident.

A Management System in compliance with ISO 39001:2012 can be a valid bulwark of defense against such risks.

If we consider the associated economic advantages (discounts on INAIL insurance premiums of up to 30%), which continue uninterruptedly, we believe that its adoption is an initial investment that cannot be postponed.

The application for a reduction in INAIL insurance premiums can be submitted every year from January to the end of February with the OT24 model; to take advantage of this advantage in the following year.

Definitions

The ISO 39001 standard defines the requirements that a road safety management system must meet in order to allow any public or private organisation involved in the transport of goods or persons by road to prevent and reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries resulting from road collisions.

"It specifies the requirements for the Road Traffic Safety (RTS) system to enable an organisation interacting with the road traffic system to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries caused by road accidents in which it can intervene. The requirements of ISO 39001 include the development and implementation of an appropriate RTS policy, the development of objectives and action plans related to it, which consider legal and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes, and information on RTS-related elements and criteria which the organisation identifies as those it has the ability to control and on which it can intervene "**.
